Fall Plaid

F21 shirt (here), Seven jeans (similar), Nine West heels (similar on sale), bag via TJMaxx, How Gorgeous necklace (here) & bracelet (here)

I haven't been able to wear this plaid shirt yet because it has been so hot! Of course it was still hot when I wore it this weekend but I was tired of seeing it just hanging in my closet for weeks now. It's kind of nice to break out the fall clothes and lip/nail colors. I haven't worn dark nail polish in ages!

Have a great week!

Neutrals

F21 bag (love this and this) and shirtdress (similar), ShoeDazzle heels, How Gorgeous Jewelry (similar necklace options coming soon)

We recently got a Forever 21 in a neighboring town and I have been quite disappointed in the things I have seen in there. Whenever I visit a F21 in another city I always find a TON of things but I've been to ours twice and only found this shirtdress. It was hanging with some sale stuff and I was pleased to see that it was only $18. Sometimes I strike out at F21 but sometimes I win and this one was a winner.

Hope you have a great week!

Maxi Love

Love Culture dress (here), F21 clutch (old, love this), ShoeDazzle flats (similar here), How Gorgeous necklace (here), sunglasses (here)

I don't typically wear a lot of maxis, only because the few I own are frumpy. I ordered this one from Love Culture a week ago because I was in love with the print on the sleeves and the bottom. It didn't have the frumpy feel that some of my other maxis have. I was a little disappointed, however, because there was a hole where the stitching was coming undone. It was a quick fix though.

Make sure you stop by my shop website and take a look at some of the pieces I have on sale! Have a great day!

Classic

Francesca's top (old), MNG by Mango skirt via JCP (old) (similar on sale here), Nine West heels (here), How Gorgeous link bracelet (here), sunnies ($5 here), F21 bag

I was going to wear a strapless dress Saturday but thought that might be a bad idea considering I had my three boys with me. Strapless dresses and clingy kids is not a good combination. I'm just glad I had enough sense to realize that before I left the house.

There's a strong possibility that I have already worn this outfit on my blog before. But oh well. Here ya go again if that's the case!

Make sure you stop by my website (How Gorgeous) and check out the sale I have going on. There are some fabulous pieces for great prices. Scoop them up before they are gone!

Have a great day!

Bright Stripes

F21 blouse, clutch, and earrings, H&M jeans, ShoeDazzle heels, How Gorgeous necklace (available soon)

Hey guys! I know my posts are not as frequent as they used to be. It's just so hard to get pictures done each week. It is a lot easier for me to just take pictures with my phone of what I wore and post that to Instagram than it is to load all the kids up in the car and drive to some location for pictures. So if you want to follow along on a more regular basis, follow me on Instagram @amyshaughnessy1

I'll still post here when I can, but Instagram is the frequent place to follow. Also, make sure you like my Facebook page (here) for my jewelry boutique to enter in a giveaway this week! Have a great week!

Flippy

F21 top (similar), ASOS skirt (similar in pink), ShoeMint heels (similar), Lazarro bag, How Gorgeous necklace (here)

Wow. It's been almost two months since my last post! Yikes. I've had an extremely busy summer. I've spent the past two months frantically writing a syllabus for EIGHT dance classes for this upcoming year. I've talked with a mentor about creating and selling a jazz syllabus so this past summer I've dedicated my time to doing just that. So if you are in the market for a jazz syllabus, just let me know! :)

My hubby and I had a date night this past weekend to celebrate my upcoming birthday. This is really the first time that I have worn a cute outfit in a long time. I've been living in workout clothes and my hair in a bun lately. It's also the first time that I've been able to fit in this skirt in a long time. Yay for being back in my clothes again!

Hope you have a great day! I'll be spending the afternoon working some but then taking a break to get a mani with my mom!

Casual Friday

A.N.A blouse via JCP, Seven jeans, tote via Kohls, Old Navy flats, How Gorgeous necklace (here), River
Island sunglasses

I know this post is called Casual Friday, but this is actually what I wore last night. My friend and I were finally able to go see Maleficent last night. I thought it was great! It was different from the Sleeping Beauty story we are all told as children. And I thought Angelina Jolie was, well, magnificent as Maleficent.

If you want $5 off your How Gorgeous jewelry order today, stop my my friend Susan's blog Charming Lucy for the code! Have a great weekend!

Recital

ASOS dress (in mint, here), BCBGeneration heels (similar), bag via Ross (similar), F21 bracelet, How Gorgeous necklace

On Saturday we wrapped up the year with our annual recital. I taught seven classes this year so I had seven dances to oversee that night. All of the girls danced beautifully. I was really pleased with each one of my classes.

It was also a hard night because we had several graduating seniors. I have taught several of them for the past six years so it is difficult saying goodbye to such sweet, talented girls.

This is the dress that I wore the night of the performance. I have searched for weeks for the perfect dress and finally found one from ASOS (of course). If you are looking for the perfect dress for any occasion, you should definitely look there because they are constantly getting new pieces daily.

Have a great day!

Favorite Lipsticks & A Coupon Code

Lately I've been obsessed with lipstick and have found a few shades that I wear all the time. Right now I go back and forth between MAC lipstick and Revlon. The MAC tubes run about $16 each but the Revlon are right at $5. If you aren't too excited about spending $16 on a tube of lipstick, read on to see how you can get similar shades for less.

Lipstick left, right

When I'm wanting a pink shade, I usually go back and forth between MAC's Please Me, and Candy Yum-Yum. Please Me is a nice muted shade of pink while Candy Yum-Yum is an electric shade.

I recently just picked up a pretty pink shade from Target for $5. It's called 'Pink Cloud' by Revlon and it goes on super sheer and feels like a lip gloss. If you want a subtle shade for less, check your local Target store.

Pink Cloud at Target - $5

Maybeline's Fuschia Flash - $5.50 - Identical to Candy Yum-Yum

When I'm not wearing pink, I'm alternating between MAC's Morange and Revlon's Fire and Ice. Once again there is a more affordable option for this bright orange if you are looking for one.

I recently picked up Revlon's Siren thinking it would be a nice sheer orange that I could wear over my MAC Morange for a bit of shine. I was surprised to see that it was almost identical. It goes on matte with a strong bright look just like Morange. So if you are looking for a nice bright inexpensive lipstick, get Siren. The pictures that I found online don't look anything what it looks like in person. It definitely is identical to Morange.

What are your favorite lipsticks and colors?

Skin Savers

I tend to blog mostly about fashion but since my blog is called Fashion and Beauty Finds, perhaps I should throw in a beauty post here and there. ;)

Recently I've started to feel old and haggard. No, really. It could be that my birthday is fast approaching. It could be that the kids I teach who are graduating from high school this year were just infants when I was about 17 or 18. Yikes. Or it could be that I'm old enough to have kids of my own... And I have three. Whatever it is, my skin is starting to show the signs of aging.

But seriously, there are a few things that I have been doing to counteract the signs of aging. Like using these products:

Serum, moisturizer, brush

A Clarisonic has not been in my budget so I opted for the Olay Pro-X. It only cost $30 and has been a skin life saver! My skin was feeling rough and looking uneven (even though I exfoliate with a cream once a week). Using this every night has made all the difference. My skin feels baby soft and my complexion looks so much better. If a Clarisonic is not in your budget, make a point of getting one of these brushes. Trust me, you will wonder what you did without it!

I've also been using the L'Oreal Youth Code texture perfector serum and moisturizer. I use the serum in the morning and night and the moisturizer just at night. I think the combination of this serum, moisturizer, and brush have worked wonders. Let me know if you try them and what you think!

* When I looked online at the time of writing this post, it looked like if you bought 2 L'Oreal products (specifically these two) you would get a free $5 Target gift card. Check with your local store and see if they are running that promotion. You could use the $5 toward the brush!

Have a great day!

Sunny Stripes

Loft blouses (old), Seven jeans (option), GoJane heels (here), Michael Kors bag, How Gorgeous necklace (here), sunglasses (here), F21 bracelet (option)

The weather here has been pretty fantastic lately. The mornings have actually been cool, which for Louisiana is a pretty big deal. I'll take a cool morning in May!

I wore this the other day to take my mom out to lunch for her birthday. I quickly changed into flats since my ankles have been hurting. I started running a few weeks ago and hurt both of my ankles. I don't have good joints so I should have known not to run. Lesson learned, I will never, ever run again. It's just not for me.

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram at @amyshaughnessy1. Have a great day!

Bright Basics

I think every woman should have a bright basic top in her wardrobe. My favorite color by far is black and I love all black but I still wear bright, bold colors on occasion.

I've worn my favorite Forever 21 pink top countless ways but was just thinking that I don't own a bright orange top. I've put together two looks, a casual and a dressy look that are both very much my style.

Just because an outfit is casual, doesn't mean that it has to be jeans. A skirt in a fun print is perfect with flat sandals for a cute, causal vibe.

Dressed Up
Top, earrings, bag, heels, skirt

A long pencil skirt that hits right at the knee or just below it looks great with a pair of heels for a dressed up look. Picking a pair of shoes with perforated leather adds a hint of modern to this look.

How do you like to style a basic bright blouse?
