Jump

F21 jumpsuit (here) and vest (here), Worthington sandals via JCP (here), Aldo clutch, earrings c/o INPINK (here)

Oh, jumpsuits; how I love thee. They are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. When I got this white vest, I wasn't sure that I wanted to put it with the black jumpsuit but then decided to be a little adventurous and just went for it.

INPINK has kindly offered Fashion and Beauty Finds readers 30% off of all jewelry with the code FASHBEAUTY30. Expires 7/5/2013.

Date Night

sleek
(Click picture to shop)

My husband just got back from a two-week trip to Germany. While he was gone, I kept both kids and in that time I got sick, my youngest son woke up multiple times a night, my oldest son woke up early one morning and threw up, a tornado hit our neighborhood, and four days later we had another threat of severe weather so I took my boys and jumped in the car and drove south. So, needless to say, I would like a nice date night with my husband. Here are two looks that I think would be perfect for a three-hour dinner.

I don't typically go for an all over floral (or rain forest) print but there is something eye-catching about this dress. A busy dress like this one doesn't need a bunch of accessories that will compete with it. Keep it simple with minimal jewelry and a sleek clutch.

What are your ideal date night looks?

Keeping It Casual - 12 (Link Up)

F21 t-shirt, shorts (here), and blazer, Payless sunglasses, Worthington sandals via JCP (here), Croft and Barrow tote via Kohls (here)

I'm so excited to be part of Dancing With Ashley's Summer Fashion Series. Ashley asked for an everyday outfit that we would wear to lunch with friends, etc. Not too casual and not too fancy. I think that this outfit fits that description. This is exactly the type of outfit that I would wear to lunch with friends (not with my two little boys though. White blazers and kids? Um, no).

Such cute looks! The second one is my favorite by far. Neons and pattern mixing in one outfit? Awesome.

Told you that she could put together a cute outfit set. I would wear both of these in an instant! She updates her readers about any designer collaboration (Joe Fresh for JCP, for example), does a DIY here and there, and can do a fantastic mani:

Go check out her blog and make sure you check out Ashley's Summer Fashion Series for more fashion inspiration.

Color Burst

F21 sweater and shorts, ShoeDazzle wedges c/o (similar here), Michael Kors bag, Lilac Bijoux necklace c/o (here),
Old Navy sunglasses

I've worn my fair share of black and white on the blog but bright colors are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Instead of just wearing one bright color, I'm loving mixing a few together for a fun, summer look.

Keeping It Casual - 11 (Link-up)

F21 top, Old Navy jacket, Loft jeans, Sole Society shoes, Michael Kors bag, bracelet from Dillards

This, ladies and gentlemen, is as casual as I get. I almost didn't put this one up because I felt like it might be a little too casual.

Let's talk about one thing today: consistency. I am struggling with consistency in my pictures. I have had my fancy pants camera (a Canon Rebel) for about a year now and it has been a huge learning experience. At first I shot in auto but hated the way the pictures came out. So I was determined to learn how to shoot in manual mode. All of that technical jargon confused me from the beginning so I just started playing around with the settings. While I think I know how to adjust them for the most part, the settings will vary from location to location and the time of day certainly plays a big role.

I think shooting in manual mode has been a huge challenge. Sometimes the pictures come out great and have the look that I want:

See the difference? Both pictures look completely different. The top two pictures above are blah, in my opinion. I think a lot of it may have to do with understanding where the light is in relation to where I am standing. I never shoot in full sun because I haven't figured that one out yet. I always stand somewhat in the shadows. I think the picture above was an overcast day and it made for good pictures.

I think my favorite picture that I have done is this one:

My face actually looks like it has a little color and I am not super washed out and white like I am in most of my pictures.

The whole point of this is that I am trying to be consistent in my pictures and I am finding that it is hard. Yes, I could take a photography class and maybe I should. I know there are some online ones and that would probably be my only option. I'm also thinking about buying another lens. I'm using the 58 that came with my camera but am considering a 50. If you have a Canon Rebel T2i, what are your thoughts on the type of lens that I should get?

Make sure you link-up your casual looks below! Also, please make sure that you are a follower of this blog and link back here in your post. Have a great day!

Cropped & A Giveaway

cropped

(Click picture to shop)

The twenty year old in me is loving the crop top trend that has 'cropped' up lately. However, the thirty-two year old in me is not going to sport these cute tops, especially after having two babies. There are some of you that can wear this trend so this post is for you.

girly

I think that if your skirt is high enough on your waist, you don't have to worry about showing too much skin. The scalloped edge on this top gives the illusion of a slightly longer top. Keep the jewelry simple so you won't distract from the design on the top and the pretty skirt.

casual

This is definitely a new take on a t-shirt and jeans combo. The colors in this top against the white jeans make this a perfect summer outfit.

sporty

Since I don't play sports, this is as sporty as I will ever get. I'm not the type of girl to catch a ball, or run, or sweat. If I have to sit on the sidelines at any sporting event (please don't make me) this is what I would wear.

Are you brave enough to wear crop tops? What is your favorite way to wear them?

I'm part of The Tiny Heart's May group giveaway. Make sure you enter below! And stop by and say hello to Emily at A Devine Life. She is the newest lady in my sidebar and trust me, you will love her style. Have a great day!

Lemon Love

F21 sweater and earrings,  Gap pants, Shoedazzle heels (here), Old Navy sunglasses, Lazaro clutch

The last time I wore one color from head to toe, I wondered if I had anything else in my closet that I could create another head to toe look with. Wouldn't you know I had some yellow pants and a yellow sweater! I decided to add a little bit of white in my accessories so I wouldn't look too much like a lemon drop.

Make sure you stop by All Glammed Up and A Beautiful Heart. These girls are my newest sponsors and are so cute! Have a great day!
