Poppy Boutique Giveaway

poppy

This week's giveaway is from an awesome online boutique called Poppy Boutique. I stumbled upon this fabulous website one day while shopping online. Being a mom, blogger, and part-time dance teacher, I truly have the most respect for women who run their own businesses. Jessica, the brains behind Poppy, is a mom to three children and runs her business. If any of you have children, you know that raising little ones is a full-time job itself!

Jessica has sweetly offered to let one Fashion and Beauty Finds reader pick a piece of jewelry as the giveaway prize. Sweet deal if you ask me. Enter below!

I will announce the winner on Tuesday, April 9th. And while we are talking about winning, will you do me a HUGE favor and vote for me in the Wallis Blogger Ambassador Contest? You can do that by going and liking the Wallis page here and clicking on 'blogger ambassador contest' and find my picture! Thanks!

* Don't forget about the Keeping It Casual link-up happening tomorrow!

Anna Dello Russo for H&M

I love H&M's collaborations with designers and icons. The next collaboration is an accessories only collection collaboration with style icon and Vogue Japan's fashion editor Anna Dello Russo. It's out October 4. There'll be a lot of gold and turquoise. From the first look of it there's really a lot I like - like A LOT. Check out the video below to know more about her style and the collaboration with H&M.

DIY - Neon fringe statement necklace

I had a fringe necklace that I didn't use, so I though it would be fun to spraypaint it in a neon color. I only sprayed the fringes and not the metal strands, as I like to still have some metal color.
The necklace is from H&M and fringes was originally a greenish color.
Spray the item on both sides until all strands are covered. It's a good idea to put tape or something over the metal if you don't want the spray to splash on it.

Finished result. I actually think I'll do a giveaway on this. Let me know - Would you like to "win" it?

Plexiglass earrings - high and low

Remember I showed you a new earring buy a little while ago. It was these plexiglass earrings. I find plexiglass earrings really hot right now - it's so easy to change an outfit with these babies.
I found some highs and lows.

First pics are the high end glamourous plexi earrings from Zara Voight

Edgy earrings from Erbs & Bjerke

And these very cool handmade ones. The designer does different ones. You can get them here

I Love the Flower Girl - Part 3

Today is the last day in my floral trend series. Just to show you how popular the trend is: half of the pictures I saved for this trend series were sold out by the time I was ready to publish each post. Of course, the selection of floral print garments is vast so you should have plenty to choose from should you decide to purchase any.

It seems that I have been including my favorite items at the beginning of each collection. I really love this first long sleeve pink blouse. I think this blouse would look great with a pair of shorts and sandals (you pick your favorite height. I think flats, wedges, or heels would all look stellar with shorts). Fifteen years ago I would have freaked at the idea of wearing a long sleeve shirt with shorts. (I was in high school then so I was pretty much self-conscious about a lot of things). To me, long sleeve shirts were synonymous with winter (as shorts were with summer), so I would have never imagined mixing the two. These days I will try just about anything (except perhaps a dress made of meat; you can leave that to Lady Gaga).

I included a few pairs of floral stud earrings at the end of this collection for those of you who want to try the floral trend but want to do so in a small way. The earrings are delicate and will definitely add a touch of femininity  to your look without being over the top.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

Pernille Corydon jewelry

I use to like sparkling jewelry, but recently found a love for really simple, cool pieces too. Pernille Corydon's pieces are just that - simple and cool. I love the tiny round rings a lot- it's the kind that you place as normal rings and half way down. I love that. I love a lot of things from this line. What do you think?

DIY neon nut hexagon bracelets

I first saw the braided hex nut bracelet over at HonestlyWTF. I think nuts in jewelry are just hot. The bracelets are very easy to do.
I did some just with knotted ends and one with a lock. All you need is some leash, I used nylon, some nuts and some kind of lock if you want. You can do these with all kinds of twine in cotton or leather etc. I like nylon, because it's durable and doesn't start looking worn fast like cotton does.
One you cut the leash into three pieces. If you just want knots at the ends tie a nut and if you want a lock burn the ends so they melts and glue the ends into one end of the lock.
Start braiding very firmly, holding it all in place with your tumbs.
Start braiding in the nuts, putting in a new nut every time you cross over the leash. Stop when you have the amount of nuts you want. Burn the ends so they melts and glue the ends into the other half of the lock.
Voila - your bracelet is done!

New in - jewelry from Just female + Erbs & Bjerke

Got this Just Female necklace and Erbs & Bjerke earrings yesterday. I love that the necklace is so fine and kind of edgy. Will go with everything I own:) The earrings are plastic mirrored, so they are not heavy at all. You can also get them in a chandelier-design. I will wear these with a black outfit or a white shirt. So cute.

Tribal Prints - Part 3: Accessories

Calling all minimalists! Here is the last segment in my Tribal Prints series. If head-to-toe tribal prints are too loud for you and separates are still a bit much, then accessories are the best way to capitalize on this funky print trend.

Start with a neutral outfit and add one of these accessories to amp up your look. Just a cute top and shorts would look great with one of the ballet flats. I am loving the Coconuts Brea flat and think it would look super cute with this top and a pair of shorts.

So out of the three segments, which was your favorite overall? I personally like the separates and accessories...although I still can't get over this dress from the first series!
